The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall notice for approximately 48,000 mattresses sold exclusively at Costco due to potential mold exposure during manufacturing.
The affected mattresses in question are the Novaform ComfortGrande and Novaform DreamAway models, available in various sizes, including twin, full, queen, king, and California king. The recall also includes the 8-inch DreamAway mattress, available in twin and full sizes.
Manufactured by FXI, these mattresses were produced at FXI’s San Bernardino, California facility between January 2 and April 28.
The CPSC has raised concerns that these mattresses may have come into contact with water during the manufacturing process, which could lead to mold growth.
For individuals with compromised immune systems, respiratory issues, or mold allergies, exposure to mold can pose serious health risks.
To identify whether your mattress is affected, the CPSC implores customers to look for the manufacturing date and location information on a tag attached to the mattress. The Novaform ComfortGrande mattresses bear the label “Novaform” in white letters, while the DreamAway mattresses feature a gray base with “Novaform” printed in white letters.
Consumers in possession of the impacted mattresses have the option to reach out to FXI for a full refund or a replacement. Those who opt for a replacement will have shipping and disposal costs waived.
