According to California state documents, HelloFresh is closing a factory in the Bay Area and laying off nearly 600 workers.
On October 10, the business informed 611 employees at its warehouse in Richmond, California, that their positions would be eliminated on December 11. According to the notice, the facility’s permanent shutdown will result in the layoffs.
The location was one of two warehouses in the US where HelloFresh workers attempted to form a union last year.
However, as reported in December by the trade magazine Food Dive, employees at the facility decided against organizing a union.
