Equifax sued over incorrect credit scores

A lawsuit has been filed against Equifax for issuing inaccurate credit ratings to millions of customers earlier this year.
Nydia Jenkins’ attorneys claim that Equifax’s error resulted in her receiving a significantly more expensive vehicle loan in a complaint that was filed last week in the Northern District of Georgia, Florida.
According to the lawsuit, millions of consumers may have been impacted by the Equifax issue, which persisted for roughly three weeks.
The Wall Street Journal reported last week that millions of individuals requesting home and vehicle loans had received inaccurate credit scores from Equifax.
Customers’ scores were impacted by the company’s coding error by up to 20 points either way, enough to prevent some potential borrowers from receiving loans, according to the Journal.
