At the upcoming policy meeting of the US central bank, San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly suggested that a rate increase of 50 basis points is not guaranteed.
Stating that bringing down inflation is a task that the Federal Reserve is far from done with.
On CBS’s Face the Nation, Daly added, We need to leave our minds open. We have two more inflation reports coming out, another jobs report.
Support for the Fed raising rates by another 75 basis points was boosted by a good jobs report released last week.
Before that meeting, policymakers still need to analyze a further jobs report and a number of inflation data.
More than twice as many jobs were added by US firms in July than were forecasted by economists.
